THE WEBINAR

One to one or even group psychological treatment cannot be offered to all those who need it. In fact, most young people in need of treatment are unlikely to be able to receive it. It might be too far away, too expensive or too remote of an option all together. Many are not suitable, cannot sit down, talk or reflect on their difficulties, which they anyway deny. They will refuse it, stuck in destructive cycles of activity, disturbing others but deny all vulnerability in themselves. They might still be going to school, maybe a special school, attending community generic support, be residents in units for disturbed young people or even in prison.

“Community Psychotherapy” is a method of therapeutic culture and work that can be tailor-made to fit any organization tasked with treating, holding on to or just tolerating young people with severe difficulties. It is believed that any organizational culture will be heavily impacted by the demands put upon it by such a task, and struggle. Establishing a community psychotherapy culture, with the right support, over time, helps organizations to become resilient and containing, able to support even the most extreme difficulties.

This seminar is suited for professionals of all levels working in a variety of settings and organisations who are interested in developing their therapeutic thinking within their existing roles. It is also suitable for clinicians working in care organisations who are interested in thinking about organisational dynamics and how to work with those, consult and support others, and create networks that think therapeutically.
